Welcome
The Australian-New Zealand Women's Group Bangkok (ANZWG) has for more than 50 years played a major part in the lives of many expatriate women who have been lucky enough to reside in this fascinating yet sometimes challenging city. ANZWG's main role is to promote friendship amongst its members and to encourage them to support each other during their stay here in Thailand.
ANZWG members know how to enjoy themselves; our organisation boasts one of the most hectic social calendars in town - from tennis and mahjong to market visits and dinner. The highlight every year is the Melbourne Cup Charity Lunch religiously held on the first Tuesday in November and considered Bangkok's social event of the year. ANZWG is also well known for its community service work, its fundraising and its impressive publication - Bangkok Guide which is now in its 18th edition.
We are successful because of our members, both past and present - women who come from different backgrounds, are of varying ages and have many differing interests. Women whose enthusiasm and commitment to our group have ensured its continued success.
Our Aim
The aim of ANZWG is not only to support each other, but also to help women and children of Thailand.
ANZWG has contributed to many projects, especially in the fields of education and health needs for those in the lower economic sector. We hope this will allow women to have the opportunity to make choices towards leading a more fulfilled life and achieving self-sustainability.
All proceeds from our fundraising events and the sale of the ANZWG Bangkok Guide go directly to fund the charitable work that ANZWG is involved with in Thailand, with particular emphasis on health and education for women and children.
