The musical production will be directed by Raymond J. Possick with musical direction by Jack Gittings and is produced by Don Harrelson, Brian Phillips and Robert Thompson.
Since it’s opening in May, 1960, at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in New York, and the subsequent revival at the Snapple Theatre Center, THE FANTASTICKS has become the longest running production of any kind in the history of American theatre.
THE FANTASTICKS, music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones, is the story of two neighboring fathers who put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love, because they know children always do what their parents forbid. After the children do fall in love, they discover their fathers' plot and they go off separately to experience the world. They return to each other and their love for one another.
With memorable songs like “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” THE FANTASTICKS will have you humming. Humorous songs like “This Plum is to Ripe” and “Plant a Radish” will have you laughing. The show’s insight will have you nodding you head because you’ve been there.
